Pork Pie Slot Rally

Melton & District Model Club 60^th Anniversary Show

To mark the very special occasion of the clubs 60th Anniversary, we will be hosting our first Slot Rally event since 2013 during our annual general modelling show.

This will be an “Arrive and Drive” event, with no fixed start time each day, simply bring your cars, arrive either day and race whenever you are ready. This will allow you plenty of time to take in all the other activities and displays during the show. However, entries will be closed around an hour before finish at around 3pm, to allow competitors time to complete all stages.

Our aim is to keep the racing close and competitive with the widest selection of available cars from differing manufacturers as possible.
For this event we have designed the rules be easily accessible for the beginner while still offering a challenge to the most experienced racers.
As such we have come up with three classes that shows the full range of performance and tuning that is available in the Slot Rally world;

“Production” Class
For near “Box Standard” cars with only basic race preparation and tuning allowed, as run in our current Rally Championship.

“Slot Rally GB” Class
For modified cars that has a stricter set of replacement parts, to be in line with the current “Slot Rally GB” events.

“Open” Class
Free choice of car and components to allow for unlimited options for tuning and setup.

“Club Car” Class
For the general public or visiting racers, we are providing cars so that anyone can take part.

Limit of 3 Cars per Competitor, with a maximum of 2 cars per Class.
Entries are £4 per car, or £10 for 3.

First to Third in each of the four Classes will take home one our brilliant “Pork Pie” Trophies, in Gold, Silver or Bronze.

In the main three classes; ‘Production’, ‘Slot Rally GB’ and ‘Open’, each winner will also be awarded with an “NSR Formula 22 Orange #81” (with a couple of random spares), with big thanks to our friends at NSR.

And then in the general public ‘Club Car’ Class for competitors who do not have their own car, First to Third places will each receive their choice of 1 of 3 “Scalextric” cars, kindly donated by Hornby Hobbies.

Plus, as an extra incentive, everyone who enters the “Slot Rally GB” Class will be entered into a draw to win 1 of 2 “SRC Body and Chassis Kits”, courtesy of SRC.

For the first time, we will be running all of our portable and Slot Rally tracks at a single event.
Stages will be run across all available tracks, with multiple being run twice on different lanes, and maybe direction(!) to make up 10 competition stages.
